School Visits

School visits are arranged in pairs of schools, located close together. Delegates will visit BOTH schools in the pair. We encourage delegates to visit the schools' websites to find out more about them, in order to make your selection.
Option 1: Albany Junior High School & Albany Primary School
Albany Junior High School is a year 7-10, co-educational, junior high school. Founded in 2005, it was the first purpose-built junior high school in New Zealand, created to cater for the needs of the adolescent learner. Albany Primary School is a neighbouring year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary school. It has a history dating back to the 1860s. Both schools are situated in the growth suburb of Albany to the north of Auckland.

Option 2: Northcote College & Northcote Intermediate
Northcote College is a year 9-13, co-educational high school founded 1877. It is the oldest secondary school on the North Shore. Northcote Intermediate, a year 7-8, co-educational intermediate school, contributes to the college. Both schools are located in Northcote, a suburb just over the Auckland Harbour Bridge to the north.

Option 3: Takapuna Grammar School & Belmont Primary School
Founded in 1927, Takapuna Grammar School is a year 9-13, co-educational high school set in expansive grounds overlooking Auckland Harbour. Belmont Primary School is a year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary school. Both schools are situated in the suburb of Belmont, directly across the harbour from the Auckland CBD.

Option 4: Weymouth Primary & Manurewa West School
Weymouth Primary School and Manurewa West School are both year 1-6, co-educational contributing primary schools, located in neighbouring suburbs in south Auckland. Both schools were established in the 1960s. Weymouth Primary School has a Māori language immersion unit, which caters for students from year 1-8.

Option 5: Papakura High School & Opaheke School
Papakura High School was established in 1954 and is a year 9-13, co-educational high school. Opaheke School is a year 1-8, co-educational, full primary school. Both schools are located in the south Auckland suburb of Papakura.

Option 6: Selwyn College & Stonefields School
Selwyn College is a year 9-13, co-educational high school celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Stonefields School opened in 2011 in the brand-new suburb of Stonefields. It is a year 1-8, co-educational, full primary school which contributes to Selwyn College.

Option 7: Michael Park School & Pakuranga College
Michael Park School is located in the east Auckland suburb of Ellerslie. It is a Rudolf Steiner school - the only one in central Auckland - and caters for students from kindergarten to year 13. Pakuranga College is in the neighbouring suburb of Pakuranga. It is a year 9-13, co-educational, secondary school which opened in 1961.

Option 8: Rutherford Primary School & Rutherford College
Rutherford College is a year 9-13, co-educational secondary school. It is named after New Zealand-born nuclear physicist and chemist Ernest Rutherford. Rutherford Primary School is a year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary school. Both schools are located on the Te Atatu Peninsula, to the west of the Auckland CBD.

Option 9: Woodlands Park School & Titirangi School
Woodlands Park School and Titirangi School are neighbouring year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary schools, located in the spectacular bush suburb of Titirangi in the Waitākere Ranges. Both schools are committed to the environment, running enviro-schools programmes.

Option 10: Western Springs College & Bayfield School
Western Springs College is a year 9-13, co-educational secondary school located in the Auckland inner city suburb of Western Springs. Ngā Puna o Waiōrea, a Te Reo Māori immersion kura is located on the same site. Western Springs College and Ngā Puna o Waiōrea operate collaboratively on a co-governance model. Students flow between the schools, according to their year level and course choices. Bayfield School is a year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary school located in the neighbouring suburb of Herne Bay. Bayfield School was established in 1886 on the original site and later moved to the new location across the road.

Option 11: Three Kings Primary & Auckland Normal Intermediate
Three Kings Primary is a year 1-6, co-educational, contributing primary school with a transition room and a garden to table programme. Auckland Normal Intermediate is a year 7-8, co-educational, intermediate school. It is associated with the Auckland University, Faculty of Education assisting with the training of future teachers. Both schools are located in the inner Auckland suburb of Mount Eden.
