Heidi Hayward

Heidi has worked in education for over 25 years, serving as a primary school principal since 2010. Her leadership experience spans both a small rural full primary and her current role leading an intermediate school in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

A member of the NZPF Executive since 2022, Heidi currently serves as Vice President. Her responsibilities include leading the curriculum portfolio and representing the NZPF on the NZEI Te Riu Roa Principals' Council. She is also a board member of the Principals’ Legal Support and Advice Scheme, which provides legal support to school leaders.

Heidi’s background in event coordination includes staging major musical events in her hometown and contributing to several significant conference teams. These include the 2025 NZPF conference in Wellington and a Māori Achievement Collaborative Wānanga held in Ōtākou. She is also part of the planning teams for the 2026 ICP Convention and the 2027 NZPF conference to be held in Christchurch.
